Seven Dozen

I heard some wonderful news a few days ago. You can freeze eggs and they keep for up to a year in your freezer. I did not know that...and have never thought of doing that. The local grocery store was having a dozen eggs for 79 cents and I thought that now would be the perfect time.

The kids start school in a couple of weeks and I want to make the mornings go as smooth as possible. Over the weekend I made up a bunch of pancakes to put in the freezer to just pull out on school days. Eggs would be another great option. I also plan on doing french toast and waffles.

Today I bought 7 dozen eggs @ .79 a dozen and a box of quart freezer bags. I put a half dozen in each bag and then in three of the bags I put 2/3 dozen for weekends when Dan is home for breakfast.

It was quick and easy to do and now all I will have to do on school mornings is pull out a bag of eggs the night before....not to mention, I am pretty set on eggs for now until another sale comes up.
